Less Force Applied to Each Leg

The force on the thighs is:

  1. Far below comfort thresholds we have measured in lab (Yandell et al. 2020) and
  2. Far below forces that damage skin or other biological tissues.

The Apex applies forces similar to (or potentially less than) forces applied by a person’s own elbows when they brace their elbows on their knees (e.g., during sustained bending). A person’s muscles typically apply over 1500 N of force (200% body weight) on the thighs/knees during lifting (orthoload.com); whereas the Apex applies forces less than 150 N (20% body weight) to each leg.
