What We Know

4. The Apex reduces bodily discomfort on the back and knees.

HeroWear has conducted dozens of field studies in which workers use the Apex daily in their jobs. Survey data about bodily discomfort are collected before the Apex is introduced (baseline) and after weeks of Apex use. Workers consistently report less work-related discomfort in their lower and upper backs, shoulders, knees, and hips.

As of November 2025, HeroWear field study data from 530 Apex 2 users indicated, on average, a 33% reduction in low back discomfort and a 27% reduction in knee discomfort. These data were from customers (across various industries) who deployed exosuits, collected standardized survey data, and then opted to share and have their data aggregated.

Third-party field studies have also consistently measured reductions in bodily discomfort when wearing the Apex. For instance, in a multi-week field study conducted independently by SAIF (insurance company), workers reported a 73% reduction in low back discomfort when wearing the Apex. Pinnacol Assurance (another insurance company) also performed independent testing with multiple policyholders and reported a 26% reduction in back pain and a 66% reduction in knee pain for workers wearing Apex exosuits.
