Instructions for Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Storing (including Recommended Cleaning Products)

The Apex 2 is designed to be very low maintenance.

Outside of regular cleaning and sanitizing the Apex 2, maintenance is mainly limited to replacing parts if they wear out over time (these are covered under the 2-year warranty against premature wear and defects), and regular cleaning/sanitization.

Maintenance for good hygiene involves regular sanitizing and cleaning as per the following instructions.

Storage and Transport

  • Store the suit by hanging it by the shoulder straps on a rack, hook, or hanger with sufficient airflow to allow the device to dry thoroughly. Note: If the exosuit is wet or damp, do not cover the Apex 2 in a manner that prevents airflow as doing so may allow bacteria growth.
  • Detach the switch from the shoulder strap loop if the Apex 2 will be compressed or flattened for storage or transit.

Sanitizing and Cleaning

The Apex 2 exosuits should be properly cleaned, sanitized, disinfected, and/or decontaminated regularly.

  • After each day of use, sanitize all surfaces in contact with the user by using a non-bleaching, alcohol-based sanitizing fabric spray after each use. Avoid spraying solution directly into the rope hole on the clutch.
  • Store the suit by hanging it by the shoulder straps to in a location with sufficient airflow to allow the device to dry thoroughly.
  • For more thorough sanitizing, use disinfectant wipes to clean buckles, cable, switch, and clutch
